Wildcat Collegiate Academy (WCA)

We like to call it a one-of-a-kind jump-start to college.

Through this dual credit program, WCA students have the opportunity to earn up to 62 hours of college credit—or even an associate degree—before graduating from Plano Senior High.

Here’s how it works:

• Students begin the program at Vines High School in 9th and 10th grade.
• They then transition together to Plano Senior High for 11th and 12th grade.

Along the way, they take a mix of high school and dual credit Collin College courses, supported by teachers and staff who are dedicated to their success.

The program is designed to build gradually and intentionally, so students grow into the workload.

• 9th grade: Students take one dual credit class each semester.
  • College Transition (EDUC 1300)
  • Speech (SPCH 1311)
• 10th grade: Students take two dual credit classes each semester
  • World History I & II (HIST 2321, 2322)
  • Art Appreciation (ARTS 1301)
  • Business Computers (BCIS 1305)
• 11th & 12th grades: Students take a mix of high school and college-level courses.

By following a structured four-year graduation and degree plan, students can finish high school with up to 62 transferable college hours.

If you’re thinking, “This sounds perfect for my student,” here’s what you need to know:

• Applicants must currently be in 8th or 9th grade.
• Students must score “Meets” on the Fall 2025 MAP Reading and Math tests.
• Students must maintain at least 90% attendance.
